This is my wife's pride and joy, known as Skye.
This car was found in a field near Tonbridge, Kent where she had been sat for 14 years. She had been stored with loads of Imp and Stag spares piled up inside her, so her interior was wrecked. Because of this, and the fact that she looked so ropey, some leading lights in the Imp Club had pronounced her "scrap" and told the owner to weigh her in. We took the car on - for free! - and then spent the next nine months and £3000 sorting her out.
As you can see she wasn't pretty!!!
And the interior was minging!!
But with some work, she ended up at the bodyshop...
Amazingly she needed only three localised patches to be welded in to make her look this good!
Built back up again, her spec is now:
Sport engine
Twin Strombergs
Sport exhaust
Aldon Ignitor
Alternator conversion
HE Radiator
Front discs (Fiesta Mk2)
Monte Carlo (Lowered & uprated) springs
Armstrong red max rear dampers
Armstrong touring blue front dampers
Sport engine lid & rear bumper
Recaro seats (Manta GTE)
Formula GT deep dish steering wheel
Late model rear seat
Yellow tartan door cards (see below!)
She isn't quite finished but she's back on the road. We've bought a set of 13in Dunlop alloys that we are refurbishing to go on her and the headlining needs replacing but she'll be going on the Imp Club's "Going Dutch" trip to Holland later this year.
