This is my Rover T16 powered Marina Coupe 16v The bodywork is totally standard apart from the Mk2 Escort arches and Mk3 spoiler, but this will be replaced with an air dam type spoiler: The car is currently undergoing a Turbo transplant and Front suspension system that compromises of a coil over damper and custom wishbone arm. The whole setup is 100% adjustable and includes an adjustable anti roll bar..! It looks a bit sad at the moment having been covered in dust in a lock up for a few months: This is the engine that is being hose shoed into the car: A lot of work is needed to the chassis for it to be able to take the 200Bhp engine so I have been specking out a space frame floor pan to be welded into the car. This will also help with the position of the gearbox mounts as currently they are a bit "DIY" to say the least! I would like the car to be finished this year but I don't want to make a rush job of it so maybe next spring! All comments and criticisms welcome!

Looks like a great project in the making, I can imagine the looks on your local paxo owners faces. ;D ;D ;D
I hope you keep the bodywork more or less as it is for that street sleeper look.

;D Yeah the bodywork will remain the same. I was tempted at one point to fit an X Pack from a capri onto it, but then decided to keep it just neat and tidy!

Neat and tidy is better then a bodykit. I love the idea of sleepers teaching the Paxo boys how curse word there cars are. ;D

Thanks for the comments! It dose not wear Wellers anymore, It has a set of 15inch Capri 2.9i Wheels. The conversion is easy but needs a lot of planning because of the engine management system/ EFI and Transmission. It has a Capri 2.8i cut down rear axle which is rated well over 200BHp (What I am aiming for..) Currently other work has got on top of me so the coupe is awaiting some more work (Turbo Conversion.....!!!!!) Some people call me mad when I say I have a 200BHp Marina..

This is the stuff ;D I had a marina coupe a few years ago, 1300 in chocolate brown, loved it to bits! Your conversion sounds quality, great engine choice! Interested in the suspension work- are you/ have you done all the custom fabricating yourself? More pics!

Thanks for the comments!
All the suspension work is done by a mate of mine that designed race suspension for other classics including Minors, we adapted it to fit the Marina's front end.
The rear is still undergoing changes, I am creating a five link rear end and turreted rear dampers with LSD...

What a quality piece of kit ;D Had considered fitting one of those into a 1500, but not really sure what the engine note is like (basically, what I base my opinion on after torque..)
I look forward to seeing the finished article ;D
