About time I updated this a bit
I'm in the Basement

I'm in the basement baby, drop on by
HOW?
Up untill this point everything had been bolt on, so I had plenty of time to try things out and swap stuff back if it went a bit wrong.
I'd been putting off fitting the rears untill I had a full day spare as I'd be using the ramp at work and couldn't risk having the car stuck with no way of getting it off.
First up I stripped the interior and plumbed the hoses ready for the rear bags.
(pic to follow)
The rear bags are secured by one central fixing to the bottom and two fixings to the top, along with an air feed at the top.
In preperation I did a bit of measuring and purchased an off cut of box section which I cut in half slightly angled, to marry up with the top chasis rail and leave a nice flat face to bolt the bag to.
Drilled two holes for the top mounting bolts and one larger one for the air feed and held it up.
But before I welded it in place I needed to know where it would line up so I started work on the lower mounts
This is the standard bottom arm with coil spring cup
I then proceeded to cut it in half
Fold the two parts over untill broken and lying on the floor
which left me with this
A lower arm with no coil spring cup and a good size hole in exactly the right place for the airbag.
So with the bag bolted to the lower arm I refitted it and marked where the pre drilled box section now needed to live
exactly where the new box section wanted to live was the old spring retainer
So after a few moments with a cutting tool I was left with this..
Then it was a case of clamping the box section in, welding (Cheers Adam )
and job done.
Hoses connected and it now sits like this.
And some pictures from RR07 to finish
