I've noticed recently that techie questions tend to get relegated to page 4 of the General Board within about 5 hours of posting. Obviously the forum has gotten much busier, and coupled with the fact that there seem to be more members here for the Ooofage and chatting about more general retro-related stuff, it means that the people that could halp maybe don't always see the posts. I never thought I'd say this, but do you think it's time the forum had a technical questions section?! I don't want this to come across as whinging, because RR works really well. I just noticed that people who posted up (sometimes urgent) technical questions don't get the replies they need because the members who probably could help perhaps don't see the posts. Just a thought like

Yeh, I think it might be worth a try. If it isn't satisfactory then it can always be removed

I admit at times it may be handy but I think it could detract slightly. A lot of people probably wouldnt check the tech forum unless they were wanting something and I think quite a few threads would either go unread or it would be the same half dozen people answering the questions. And I think if technical or slightly technical threads were moved out from the main category then the general category might move more into a general chat OT kinda place
Comparing RR with other forums I prefer the way everything is more or less in the one room.

What Pheonixc said for me, i try offer advice when something easy comes up in general to save others the effort, but i would not check technical help so much cos theres better qualified people. best trick is to bump it after all its a plea for help so its ok to bump

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Much more likely to get looked at once its been bumped, too, as you`ll know the replies its already got wont have solved it and you`ll realise the guy really is having a spot of bother!

I don't think the forum should split into general and tech i'm not a big fan of it on the nsra forum.
