OK, the Cortina is available if someone has the cash to take it away. I wasn't planning on selling but I have an option to buy something which could suit me to buy now....
So...
What I have is a 1973 Cortina 1600L 4 door which has been converted more or less into a 2000GT. It has the GT grill, dash, etc. but not the tombstone seats. The headlights are halogen jobbies from a BMW. Its been lowered plenty, all new(ish) bushed which are Deflex ones. I have an unused antiroll bar and ARB bushes to go with (Deflex again). The motor is a 2.0 Pinto, 4 branch Ashley to a stainless steel system which I think is a Powerflow one, but its quiet like stock. It has the progressive Weber twin choke, K&N, electric fan, blah blah.
It has the original 1600 box and rear axle so its lively acceleration but noisy at motorway cruising. I have a 5 speed type 9 box (known good out of a mate's car) and the 2 litre 2 piece prop you need for the conversion. Should also have the Capri crossmember (needs redrilling to fit but otherwise spot on).
I am using the car daily, its reliable, its solid as a rock, its been waxoiled and all that. The paint is a little time worn and shows touch up in a few places and microblisters in others. Theres a few bleb on it too. It looks damn smart though, but would need some minor cosmetics and probably a respray to make it 100%. I kinda like it how it is. Honest and largely original. Interior is minty fresh.
You will also get a remote control alarm, stereo with new 6.5" front door speakers in pods, plus a set of un-cut stock door cards for if you want to remove the stereo. I also have the original radio. the stereo was like £350 or somethign a few years ago but either its got a fault or theres some interfereance due to my wiring it in.
I've just put 6 months tax on it, its got MOT through to September, as soon as I get 5 minutes I'm going to service it, you might even find I fit a new cam belt, if not one comes with it for you to do the job.
Car I'm looking to buy is £2000 so thats what I'm asking. Simple really.
Life on Mars, not AE86, drift, JDM Cosworth, Retro Ford, etc.
I'll put up some fresh photos, but these give you the idea...
PS car has legal plates now, black plates included for "show use"
