With the new koni adjustables on the front of the ZS I have more flexibility in setting up the front suspension and the old ZS is now about 50mm lower. The garage set up front suspension using the standard 104 settings which look like a slight amount of positive camber.
Now this not only looks very non butch but I guess is not the best for the handling. I have asked on the 104 site about this and the opinion varies from as much as I can dial in to half a degree max.
Any comments from people here that know there suspension onions?

I'm no expert but old french motors always seem to have a bit of positive camber for some reason. dail in as much neg as you can and work your way back till it feels right and doesnt scrub of your tyres in a hundred miles.

I would say 2 deg negitive camber is about the max you would want to ajust the sus IMO. Too much can cause tires to wear much faster.. Not good and may even provoke bump steer. If you set it to a degree - and see how it sits then take it for a test. You can always go more if you felt the car needed it.

They're a bit softer than the old out and out tarmac dampers. There is now a tny bit of suspension movement, before the old flex was the sidewall of the tyres.
Handling seems a lot better though. Howver this could be just because one of the PTS shocks was knackered. Hard cornering will now produce some body roll. My old samba, which also had PTS shocks was totally flat and just steered on the throttle.
I guess the koni's are either forrest spec or very hard fast road. If the ZS makes it on to the track I thinl it will be on refurbed PTS shocks, but for ewveryday use, these are better.

Its probably not relevant, but I always set my Radio Controlled Car with 1deg of negative camber as a starting point - I then check the tyre wear and adjust accordingly, but 1 deg always seems there-abouts. Too much negative camber does make the car very prone to bump steer and surface undulations as well as being very lively around the straight ahead on the steering. I presume the 104 has Macpherson struts so as you adjust the camber angle you will probably be affecting the caster too

Yeesh! Positive camber?! I would have thought that with your car being lowered, they couldn't use the standard 104 settings... A bit of negative camber should make it more sure-footed in the corners. But, as has been pointed out, too much and it'll be heavy from straight-ahead. I must say suspension geometry is something I try and ovoid - my philosophy is: If it looks right, it probably is right! ;D
