After 21 years of ownership, the time has come. For sale, is my Colt. I don't use the car any more and selling it will free up some cash for my projects.
I bought it in 1986, same day I sold my first Hyundai Pony. 3 years later, I fitted the V8 and it was on the road constantly then until a couple of years ago. Its been parked up in my stables for the past 2 years but regularly being taken for a short run on the local back roads.
The engine and 5-speed are from an SD1. The engine was totally rebuilt before being installed. About 2000, I fitted a high lift cam and a couple of other bits and pieces and late last year, the silenced Chevrolet sidepipes went on. The back axle is standard Sapporo with the diff from an auto.....closer to the std Rover ratio.
The car will come with a full, new MoT and will also be supplied with a whole truckload of spares. This will include front wings, 2 left doors, 2 right doors, front slam panel, front radiator panel, boot lid, bonnet, rear quarters, loads of glass (front, rear and sides), standard engine, front suspension complete, rear suspension complete, loads of lights, interior bits, carpet set, and so on.
Condition isn't bad. There's no major rot but each panel will be needing some cosmetic attention. Paintwork looks nice in the photos but the car has just been washed and is still wet. A good mopping and polishing is needed all over.
Inside is nice. The seats are from a Mk2 Turbo including the split-folding rear, while the door panels and parcel shelf are covered in grey leather. I have fitted a standard Rover V8 speedo and rev. counter into the Colt instrument panel.. There is no ICE but there are 4 Alpine speakers installed.
The car is pictured with Black Racing Wheels which aren't included in the sale. Not sure which wheels are but they won't be standard steels.
I'm looking for £1800 for the whole lot. You can make me an offer around that figure but I won't respond if you be silly. If it doesn't sell, I'll put it back in the stables until its the last one in the UK.
