Locking wheel bolts?BenzBoy

I've had some bad experiences with locking nuts, but I really feel I ought to get some. The last set I had were utter wibblepoo. They had this special socket with a number of pins set into it, which located in the bolt head. I must've got thru four sockets, and two of the bolts all mashed up after trying to remove them (they weren't even torqued up!). Had to go without my Merc for a good week!! So, anyone know of any decent ones? The ones with the splined heads look better and less likely to mash up to me.

NEVER EVER put those 'Trilock' locking wheel nuts on your car and if you buy a car with them on, throw them in the skip before your'e left stranded on the hard shoulder with grazed knuckles. .I've had loads of these on cars I've worked on over the years and they all ring of after a few uses, especialy if anyone has ever been near them with an airgun personally I use mcgaurd locking nuts which you can find in any local Halfrauds as they seem to stay in top condition even when used on salted roads.

Yeah the old man has mcguards on his v70, and it never gets cleaned but the mcguards still look good!
I've got those 3 pin jobs on the pug, lost the chuffing key for them though, screwing!

McGuard are the best... not cheap but they will be after your cheapo unlocking nut has sheared off and it's a trip to the garage to get four bolts drilled out. my bug had 'trilock' nuts... original 70's ones judging by the way the release nut snapped with no force at all, certainly not enough to release steel nuts from magnesium wheels! they all got drilled out, the remains of the front ones rolled around in the hubs for months
