These are getting rare now. I see you've already discovered the Renault 4 forum. Can't really advise anything other than keeping an eye on the forum there. I'll keep my eyes peeled in our classifieds but haven't seen one for a while.

I know I'm starting to sound like a stuck record but a Dyane offers the same sort of practicality (albeit not the performance) of a R4. They are a little easier to find and support is much better - always feel a bit sorry for the R4 which just doesn't have the following of the tin snail.

do the seats fold up like the R4 though to give as big a boot>? i love those 4cvs with the suicide doors but i have to have something cheaper and practical really or else i cant use my old excuse , "they are all for work and the total of all my old cars only add up to a half decent new car"

Yup. Most later Dyanes have a folding rear seat. Two bolts and you can remove it too! You can roll the roof back for really big stuff.
4CVs are lovely but not very quick and are very cramped. I'd still love one though!

been looking at a few pics the boot only opens up not like the hatch on a R 4 so I don't think it will be any good for me
the 4cv is way too small but they look great I was at a car show and there was a lovely original one on show,i even went back for a 2nd look it was so nice! almost thought about selling the van to get one!

Supposedly, a R4 Van has been entered into this Saturdays Classic car auction at Kings Lynn. I'm popping down to have a look but my missus has forbid me to enter any bidding

You're thinking of the 2CV which is as you describe. Dyane has full tailgate.
Have to say though, that Renault 4 van looks ace! They are funky machines, especially if they've got the pop-up hatch above the rear door for tall stuff!
