xbollox - you're right, the car has no original ideas. i just wanted to tick the Rat box and own one. i'd be very suprised if it breaks £350!
trg1984 - it needs 2 shocks and the horn to work for the MoT. then it just needs the light scratches to be touched in and some satin silver for the centre caps. it's a 1.6 Driver with 148k and as you can see it's original (apart from the grill) and very clean, not one dent. i would hope (never give up hope!) for £450 - £500. it should be ready by the end of next week. famous last words!

Sadly he's on orders to get rid of some cars before buying more, dunno why as he's only got 3 golfs and a 2cv   |

You might be lucky, or you can re-list it quick sharp, which i would do. I'm quite against "scene tax" like there seems to be on a lot of VWs, but don't sell yourself short, get the words VW, Mk1 and Golf in the title!

yeah, i was quite confident with the original auction it seemed to get quite a few hits. but i think a better description and longer auction time will help. to be honest i just want to sell it for fair money and for it to go to someone who will appriciate it and likes it. there must be someone out there!!!!! like i say the auction will run to the end and go to the highest bidder.
thanks again. off to fix the mk2's horn!
