Went and baught the wrong gearbox for my Escort project! It now emerges that I need a MK2 FIESTA DIESEL GEARBOX! Must be from a mk2 Fiesta, and must be a diesel. I actually need 2 of them, but obviously if you have one I will be interested  If you see one while your scavenging in your local scrapyard, give me a shout also! Thanks RR'ers! |

It has the longest ratios of any of the BC type gearboxes  I was going to use an MTX75 box out of a mk6 Diesel, but it seems that it's going to be too much hassle to get it to fit  |

the engines are useful too if you lay your hands on one. the pistons can be used to stroke pinto's, the cranks can be used to stroke crossflows

mk4 and early 5 boxes are the same, IIRC
oh and mk3 fiesta.
if you get stuck for one/two pm me i might be able to help,
ive goto check at work at what ones are there.

is it not the same as an escort 1.8 diesal box??? ive got one in the garage It's simular, but the ratios on the Fiesta boxes were a bit longer, which will make all the difference with this twin engined project. I'm getting a bit desperate now so I might have to just use another XR3i gearbox for the time bieng, as it's holding up the whole project!  Be nice to get it right first time though, cos i've got to get the bellhousing welded up whichever one I go for |

it know its alot of work but might be worth just using a standard box as a practice run and something to work around and keep this project moving ill keep my eyes open for you tho fella
