Hi All, If anyone is breaking a Lupo or 6N Polo (without air-con) - I need the PAS pipe ASAP that runs from the pump, along the front of the car, down the passenger side chassis leg and to the rack. It's got a 17mm fitting at the pump end and 19mm banjo fitting at the rack, partly a solid line and partly flexible. I've rang the dealer, the part number is 6N2422893H and it's a bit expensive new for my tastes! The one on my wife's Lupo Sport is corroded and leaking PAS fluid, I've removed the pipe but it renders the car useless so she's using my lovely Golf GTI in the meantime... Let me know if you know of anything suitable by replying or PM'ing me please, can pay by Paypal Cheers Stu

I had the same problem on my 6N - I bit the bullet and bought a new one from Vagparts
Once I swaped the old one for the new one I realised it would have been fairly easy to have a new hose crimped onto the old ends and get it all done in hydraulic hose rather than the mix of Hose and steel tube.....
Plenty of places make up hydraulic hoses and when I had the PAS hoses done for the monza it was only a couple of quid
Probably no help but JM2pW

Thanks for the reply, I'm starting to come round to the idea of fixing the existing pipe too - it's only leaking and crusty in one corner so the rest of it (like 2 metres or whatever) is all fine. Would it be okay to have the rotten steel bit cut out and replaced with flexible hydraulic hose instead then, by a professional of course? That may well be a cheaper and easier option than tracking down a replacement pipe... could be easier to re-fit with an extra flexi bit in it too! Out of interest, how much was the pipe at VagParts? Obscenely expensive like the dealers?

I think £70 but I'd have to dig out the bill - my problem was it happened at an awkward time and the Olop was being used every day!!

Yeah - it's not an eay bit to get off is it, I got the Lupo pipe off with only minimal dismantling of the engine bay, battery tray etc. but it wasn't easy! £70 is expensive for a pipe... but if it makes you feel any better the dealer wants £120 for the same part!

I got new hose crimped onto old ends for a power steering hose for the Monza - £10 and done while I waited........ But like I said it needed to be done with minimum delay I was driving the car with it weeping and topping the PAS fluid daily untill the part arrived If I'd taken the hose of it would have put the Olop off the road and then I had no transport to drive 12 miles to the place that did my Monza hose - stuffed on all counts so I went to Vagparts and they posted the part to me
