Here For Sale is my 1992 Ford Sierra Sapphire. The car is a 1.8 LX in Verona Green with 110k on the clock. I bought the car a few months back as a solid car with a couple of niggles, and thats how it stands now. My plans have changed since I bought it and I can no longer afford to run a big car like this. The car has 11 months Tax and 5 months M.O.T.
The Good- The bodyshell is very solid for one of these, there is virtually no rust. The interior is in very good condition with only a small tear and cigerette burn on the drivers seat. The engine pulls well and will cruise with motorway traffic all day long.
The Bad- The engine drinks oil, however if you use a good quality oil (I use Shell Helix) it improves dramatically and doesn't seem to have any problems if you keep it topped up. It has a problem with the electrics, this could just be a fuse however and I will be having another look this weekend. As it stands, this effects the central locking, interior light and interior clock. Nothing else seems to be a problem. Another niggly thing is that the Fuel Gauge doesn't work, apparently though this is a common problem on Sierra's and is cheaper to leave than fix (you soon get used to it.)
The Ugly- Other than a couple of scratches and carpark dings there is not alot wrong with this car, it is a good honest Sierra that would do good service as a loyal daily, a project or for a Cossie re-shell. I personally will be sad to see it go as it has served me well recently. Please note, the car will come without a Stereo.
Personally, I would like to do a straight swap with a cheap to run/insure smallish car. I'm thinking along the lines of anything small and Italian or Metro's, Nova's, Fiesta's, Polo's etc. However anything will be considered. If you are interested but a swap is not possible I am looking for around about £500 ono. If you have any questions do not hesitate to PM me or Post here.
The car also comes with a set of Capri RS Alloys, a 4" Back Box and a set of German style plates. None of these are fitted.
Car is located near Kettering, Northants.
