With one rather significant car gone from my fleet, I’m trying to evaluate lots of options as to what I do next. I have been offered an interesting car at a good price, so if there was a willing taker for the Galant this would help make the decision for me otherwise I’ll sort this and the Accord.
Most of you will know it as the car Datsuncherry bought earlier this year, at which time it did have an MoT. This expired in April I think. I took it on as DC’s best offer at the time he had it for sale was for it to be broken by a Galant Turbo owner. To be frank I have done nothing with it since, apart from occasionally move it round (when it always starts first time). Mileage is about 60k I think, and it’s a 4-speed manual with 1600 engine giving about 75bhp, solid rear axle and struts up front.
I’ve got it booked in for a pre-MoT check later this week, if it needs only a small amount doing I will get it sorted, in which case the price below will be adjusted accordingly. I don’t believe it will need too much doing, possible welding inside the boot, part exhaust, maybe a couple of tyres. We’ll see, when I get the list back I’ll say what it needs. However, unless you’re as much of a mechanical numpty as me it’ll probably be more cost effective for you to do the work yourself.
Here’s Hirst’s suggestion as to what it could look like:
If they suit your plans, I can also sell these ex-Scimitar 6.5x14” Wolfies. No nuts, but the correct 4x114.3mm PCD. Tyres no good.
Price? £225 for car alone, which almost covers cost of me buying it, getting it moved and the pre-MoT, or £300 with the slotmags.
Sapporo/Lancer/Starion 2-litre would drop in nicely and of course it’s the best PCD of all, 4x114.3mm. Oh, did I mention it’s RWD?..
