Since I've really not got the time for this, I'm going to test the water. I'll hang onto it rather than let it go for peanuts but the value of these is so up-and-down I thought I'd try my luck.
1972 Fastback
One-piece fibreglass flipfront, professionally done decades ago with custom-built framework beneath.
1600 engine with twin 36 Webers. It may even be bigger capacity but that's what it says on the V5. Goes like stink and I've seen the speedo needle way off the end of the clock.
Stripped-out interior, I've sourced a pretty good (only slightly cracked) dash top for it and a set of gauges.
Electrics were checked last year due to a previous half-assed rewiring job, everything now works as it should.
Pair of Porsche 944 seats, slightly scabby and not fitted to car but should be a mornings fabrication for a couple of mounts.
Has an MoT! Till October I believe but from poking around will need no welding anytime soon.
Currently fitted with standard doors and windows but I have a set of one-piece windows and correctly altered doors to go with it.
Currently finished in red oxide.
For the right price, I'll let my set of MAG Industries wheels go, 6jx15 magnesium to keep the lightweight theme going. Four good tyres on them, but car is currently on a set of scummy steels to keep it mobile
Go on, don't be scared and make an offer. I won't be offended by a low one but as said I'm not desperate for the space, just seems a shame I have no time to finish it. I spent well over a grand at T3D a couple of years back getting it through an MoT which included rebuilding all the brakes to a less-rare model year. I believe it now runs mostly 1303 stuff for ease of servicing, and they also redid all the fuel lines, new exhaust, full service and so on.
To finish it and have a heck of a lot of fun down the strip, it'd need the seats fitting, the dash fixing in and optionally a lick of paint.
