For sale is my metallic green 3 goor Vauxhall Chevette. I've got a lot of history for the car including old MOTs and bills for work done. I've fitted a tachometer although can take this out if you don't want it. I've done a lot of welding on it to get it through the MOT so there should be no big surprises rust wise. With the sale of the car I'm going to include a pair of wheel arch repair panels which I haven't had time time to fit. I've done quite a lot of work on it over the time I've owned the car including new headlights, new thermostat, new wiper switch, tuning the carb up and fitting new front wheel bearings. I'm also going to include some of the other spares I've gathered including a new water pump. It's a shame to sell it as it was a very cheap car to run with the prices of parts and insurance being so low and it's a fun car to drive.
It runs and drives nicely, I took it on a 200 mile round trip to CARS last year and it performed faultlessly, in fact it never let me down in all the time I drove it, the only car I've owned that's never been recovered! It does need some work, namely the OSR wheel arch and the sills may need repairing for the MOT in a rear or two. The front wings also need some paint to tidy them up where I welded them at the bottom of the wing where Chevettes tend to go. They're done in red oxide paint at the moment to stop them rusting though. There's a small tear in the drivers seat as well, but only a cosmetic problem. There's also some spots of surface rust coming through, mainly on the front valance and front wings. The water pump seems to be rumbling a bit where there is play in the bearing the fan mounts too. Other than that viewings and test drives are welcome.
I'm looking for around £500 for it, which I think is pretty reasonable considering the nearly full MOT. I might think about PX or swapping, depending on what you have.
Finally pictures!
I also have some other bits which a price can be negotiated for with the car including a nearly complete 1.8 manta engine (including sump and dizzy, needs a couple of hoses IIRC), manta alloys, bucket seats, manta to type 9 bell housing.
