I've stuck a relay in the starter motor circuit so no more voltage drop problems, when I was using it daily, it started first time every time. Replacement starter motor too ( brand new bosch - in 2003 )
Its been sat in my ( dry ) garage since late 2004, when I started using my mk1 golf and I was kidding myself that I was going to use it as a drag race weapon ( albeit a slow one ) or a weekend car, but the appearance of my baby son and my panel van has decided that it has to go.
Bad bits - will need the heater channels either patching ( if you're in a hurry for Bug Jam ! ) or replaced ( which is what I was GOING to do )
The carbs will need setting up properly, I put the right-ish jets in, and they run fine, just tick over a bit high.
Exhaust needs tightening up at the muffler end.
Probably a couple of other odds and sods that you get with a car that has been " resting " for a while...
Pics -
Yes yes, I know these pics aren't very good, its blocked in by my ( immobolised ) van at the mo, will get it out into the daylight at the weekend to get some more recent pic.
How much ? £900ovno.
I think thats a fair price, considering the bits on it and the value it has to me and the amazing memories it holds.
MAY swap for a half decent E28 520 manual ....if they are any left.
