Hi gang,
We've just bought a bigger trailer tent (which is even more retro so details will be posted in due time ;D ) so are putting our old one up for sale. Might suit you for the R-R show! It's in NW London but I could meet half way or even deliver within a reasonable distance for the cost of fuel. I'll be sticking it on ebay in the next day or two and below is the first draft of the text I'll be using so there's plenty of details but let me know if you want to know any specifics.
-------
Conway Capri 2 berth trailer tent dating from around 1980.
This is a really great basic trailer tent ideal for one person or a couple who no longer want to sleep on the ground! It is also very light and could be towed by the smallest of cars or even underpowered classics like we have. It comes complete with its original awning, inner tent, roof lining, all curtains and a table that folds out in the seating area (not shown in the photos). I fitted some carpet over the original lino to be warmer under foot. There is a tarpaulin we used as a ground sheet and two covers over the trailer. We’re also throwing in a set of camping pans we no longer need but any other accessories visible in the photos are not included. It is very quick and easy to erect and much less hassle than the new, modern tent we had before.
It would be best described as being in good useable condition. Obviously something of this age is going to have some wear and tear and so I’ll detail the small faults. None of them however have any bearing on its water tightness. It was fully water proofed with Fabsil last year and is totally drip free inside.
The canvas is a little thin in a couple of places and there are a number of small patches that have been put over small holes/tears. The lower ground skirt is torn in a couple of areas but has been taped up. The bed base-board has got a bit damp at some time near the hinges but works as it should. A couple of the spiked feet are missing from the bottom of poles. The fly net at the back has been replaced at some point and sewn over the curtain track so we used a safety pin to secure the curtains in the middle. The rear door is a bit rusty under where the number plate goes but does not affect its use and is totally hidden when a number plate is fitted. There are also signs of rust in places on the chassis but it is purely cosmetic. Hmm, I dare say there might be a couple of other niggly things that I have forgotten but really I am trying to be honest and mention these things even though they are insignificant in use.
The only reason we’re selling is because we’ve bought something a bit bigger. If we didn’t need a bit more space we’d happily continue using this one.
------------
Price is £175 ono.
