How cool is this.
This is a very early T82 VW Kubelwagen replica built on a 1959 Beetle chasis. It is LHD, has a 5 digit age related plate (transferable) and is correctly registered on the V5 as a VW utility vehicle. Has a stock engine so no speed demon but turns heads more than a bus full of topless cheerleaders. Complete with original brochure and price list. was used in the opening shots of The Eagle Has Landed.
This was the original car on the front of the old GP brochure. It has had 3 previous owners and the current owner has had it since 1992. The Kubel was garaged during their ownership and has been MOT'd and serviced every year since.
Needs a bit of TLC, clean fuel line, grease in the steering box, different exhaust maybe.
Engine is an original early 30hp unit and it has 6v twin batteries.
Floors a bit crusty but solid.
Comes with spare engine lid and some other panels.
Alternatively buy my buggy project and Trekker and I can keep this.
Added bonus: No seatbelts or rear foglights needed and tax exempt. Has MOT till October 07 and is currently taxed ready to drive away.
Kit is in pretty good shape for it's age but does have some authentic looking battle scars. It needs nothing for the purists but imagine if you will the possibilities of a good slamming session and some alloys of your choice.
I love it to bits but I just can't justify another VW on the driveway and am keeping this out of my wifes nagging radar by storing it elsewhere.
