Hi All,
Just joined the forum (been reading for a while) and will hopefully be on here a lot once I have sold the Granny!!
Basically its a 2.8i Ghia X in Green. Just had a total respray in original colour. Interior is in good condition with the usual cracks in the dash.
Got Mk1 wheels at the moment but I do have a set of original Mk2 Ghia allloys as well (no tyres).
Was going to get it taxed and MOT'd but due to snapping my cruiciate ligament that has put an end to that. :-(
Cheers Chris

Oxford area. Don't really know what its worth....was going to stick it on ebay but can't deal with the hassle. Offers (or is that not allowed?)
BTW its an Auto but box is fine, no smoke/rattles from engine. I reckon it will fly through an MOT!

Offers is allowed but stating a price tends to help.
I can offer a broken Metro and a Honda Civic?

LOL OK I get what you mean.
Was look for offers around the £800 mark considering it just had a £1200 respray!

I presume this is the facelifted MK2 if its an "X".
Can you even still get those damn metric tyres for the original alloys?
Mk3 Scorpio or Mercedes alloys FTW on these. 18s fill the arches out just lovely. Seen a couple on AMG alloys look the part for sure.
Needless to say some photos would help your advert.

Its a 1981. Has Ghia X on the logbook.
Just been reading the sticky at the top of the thread and realised that I'll need photos! Will drop by the garage tonight and get some pictures up. Am in hospital tomorrow for 2 nights for the op!
Its a beauty and fires straight up. Been offered £300 by a banger racer for it but its too good for that.
The alloys do have tyres but that was exactly the reason why they were changed to Mk1's as the tyres are so expensive BUT if you want original!
Just been reading the sticky

Yup. £250 each for tyres I've heard. Later alloys go straight on though.
Price doesn't seem to unreasonable although selling a car with no MoT, even a nice one can be tricky.

If a banger racer is offering 300 - take it - without a test I cant see anyone else willing to pay over that - especially as its an auto

If it's as per description it's worth the asking price all day long to me, even without ticket. Just a shame I can't afford it as I'd love a 2.8i Ghia X, and auto is a must.
I don't suppose you fancy a swap for a Rover 220 Coupe with 11 months ticket?

Sorry all that are interested, I have been in hospital until tonight and will get pictures asap.
I know I am new to this forum but I do frequent other forums such as Mini2 and Scoobynet etc and post such as 'bit rich for me', take £XXX pounds are, in essence, worthless.
TBH for £300 I rather give it to a mate to race but I thought I offer it for sale as I saw the whole 'I'd have brought that rather than banger race it' thread and this one is nice enough for the road no problemo. Replies such as 'get a ticket on it and you'll get offers of approx £XXX are appreciated whilst the others are not.
I understand this post may get some people's backs up although that is not what was intended. I was just trying to sell a Mk2 Granada that COULD easily go on the road. I'm 24 and don't have the money to be able to run it as I have just had an operation AND brought a house.
Cheers Chris

Hope you have not got the wrong end of the stick with this forum. welcome BTW, sounds like a great car, something i may fancy if i wasn't upto my eyeballs with my own MOT hungry cars. Be a pity to see it go on the track if its that nice, and specially with work done to it. someone will be interested but a MOT gives the buyer a bit more confidence hence why i'll be slaving over the ones am selling instead of prepping a good car for the show. good luck with it, look forward to pics...

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That does seem like a "save it" tax though. "I'll sell it for £300 to a banger racer (albeit a mate) but £800 to anyone else."
£300 is a price I'd be willing to pay if it is as described. (Honda would have to be for sale PDQ though!)
