My girlfriends car decided to give up the ghost on friday  , and as she needs transport, we're on the lookout for a cheap set of wheels for her. It needs to have mot for a few months, it doesn't have to be pretty, but it does need to be fully working. Tax would be an advantage (i'm cheap) as would 5 doors. Apart from that we cant afford to be picky. I'm going to attempt to persuade her that the Skoda Favorit estate i've seen on ebay would be great, but she might not go for that. Oh yeah, and Lincoln area preferably. And on a final note, if anyone can make use of my lady's car, its a 1997 SEAT Toledo, 2.0 8v (VW engine) needs the attention of someone more mechanically minded than me, but shouldn't be too much trouble. Make us an offer. |

I know where there's a 440 Volvo with almost a full MoT but no tax, i think its around a J plate, in blue for £300 ono. Its nr Epworth if thats any use.

How much are you looking to spend? May be tempted into getting rid of my Honda if the Metro isn't enough to tempt you.
Both have a whole heap of tax and MoT although the Metty needs some clutch attention.

My newly arrived Saab may be for sale depending what happens elsewhere tomorrow (I've been offered a MUCH more powerful model):
1992 Saab 9000 2.0i CD, MOT Apr '08, tax to Dec available. CD player, recently serviced (Saab mechanic maintained), 116k. 4 x e/windows, e/mirrors. Oh, and a private plate.
But ... someone hit the side on Friday, putting a dent in the rear side and a scrape along the doors. It's only visual and hasn't affected any part of the shell, with doors, electric windows working.

Cheers for the replies guys. Looking to spend £250-£300 but less is better obviously. Prefer 1500cc or less really for the tax (and insurance and fuel costs etc).
Cheers for the offer Ian, but Hannah really doesn't like white cars (picky!).

Looks like the Volvo may have gone, there's a 190diesel Merc for sale just down road from where i work, its on a D plate, in gold, taxed and tested until October, £295 ono
