Large 210 Differential which i've been told comes from: M5, M5 (6 Cyl. DOHC) 7 Series (some), 540, 740, 840, M5 for V8s, 750, 850 for V12s E28, E34, E24, E39, E23, E31, E32, E38, E46 M3 3.46-3.9 ratio. this is the one with 58.0 sq. cm. / 58 x 103.75 mm Diameter friction disks. See here: www.metricmechanic.com/pdfs/Differentials.pdfAlso would like to borrow some Jenvey throttle bodies and management to map my race engine which is coming up for sale to provide proof of its power.

;D That`ll be my fault BC LOL - well it was a hell of an introduction post ;D Just need fountain of all BMW Knowledge Bodie&doyle to see it now ;D Yeah I'd be waiting for that too - reminds me must nudge him about my requirement for some steel wheels I think Birds?? do a LSD diff for my 740 - I'm investigating that at the moment as I'd rather not go second hand on it if I can avoid it

Hey there Dom, Cheers for the advice, I eagerly await a response. Sorry I couldn't grab a beer/chat with you the other day, I was way too fed up with the rain. How's your car going? I'll keep you in mind regarding the DTA, but ideally i'd like to just borrow the whole lot instead of sourcing bits and bobs. When you frowned at the idea of using Sierra uprights did you have something else in mind that would be better? Oh do you know anyone that would be able to shorten an alloy strut brace for me?
P.S. bstardchild; hello, and I asked first.......get to the back of the line! :OP

I'll send this on a PM too, but- basically you want the "big" diff. probably got something but mostly unsuitable ratios, v8s have slippeers mainly on 6 speed manuals and 5 speed autos. they have 1:1 top gear and as such have a high ratio, ie. 2.9:1. e34 535i's have slippers but rarely come up. they have a ratio of about 3.46-3.64:1. I know i have a 3.27:1 540i diff as i moved it friday, you sure you need something that heavy?!?! M series cars like the m5 are going to cost because of the M tax, try mosley motrs for something M based, but at least it will have a better ratio. M3 e36 diffs have the same casing, but a forward monting lug on the diff nose. have you thought about an unfavourable ratio (making it easier) and getting a non slipper of the right ratio and swapping the CWP? if you handy with stuff like that, then it would be quicker and painless. i'll have a butchers tomorrow and let you know all the same. and e23s, e24s and e28s have a completely different diff unit, nothing like what you have listed. FYI Edd

Cheers Edd! Yeah I need a 210 as I am looking at turboing my car at a later date and having the car built for maximum grip. So want to build it bomb proof from the outset. At the moment I have three LSDs a M3 3.64 (188), M535i auto 3.07 (210) and a M535i 3.45 (188) although I have to double check the ratios (did the M535i manual come with a 3.45 188 lsd?). The 3.07 has the LSD I want but the ratio is unsuitable. Do you know which car I can pinch a better 210 ratio from? As I don't mind swapping bits and pieces around. Looking for around a 3.64 - 3.75 really as I am looking at using a Tremec TKO600 gearbox. Are 188/210 ratios interchangable? I thought not as they look alot smaller but if you could confirm that it will save me pulling them apart. Do you know anyone reliable for diff rebuilds/service parts? Cheers James
