I need a part for the gear linkage in my Audi. this is it:
Its a cast-iron bracket with a chrome knuckle joint set into it. It fixes with a grub screw onto a selector stub on the side of the gearbox, the stub is about 20mm diameter. It has a chrome ball set into the top of it, the chrome ball is about the size of a 1p piece.
The one on my car has now broken, rendering it immobile. I have been to Audi tonight and found that the part is obsolete (since December). It is not a service part or a 'normally wearing' part so ECP and GSF are not listing it. Part number is 431 711 181C.
Basically I am desperate so if anyone finds one of these its a case of name your price. I am going on holiday tomorrow night and now do not have time to start hunting around but I have got to get something sorted ASAP when I get back.
I think it may be common with other mid-80's 5 cylinder Audis but am not 100% certain which ones.
Any ideas?
