This is another of those "Help me make my mind up" type ad's, sorry! The prospect of a Skyline R31 and one or two other interesting cars is forcing me to consider my fleet. The 240K is a keeper, whatever, and the Camry is too useful, so the Accord drew the short straw.
I bought it unseen off eBay earlier this year, and it's proved to be a cracker. Now showing 60k, it had two typical OAP owners before me (original chap then his brother) and has loads of history including bill of sale, services etc. I can't immediately think of anything mechanically that warrants description it's so good, there's a small repair to a seat bolster, and rot-wise the main thing is the rear arches plus a small amount around sunroof (which isn't especially noticeable and roof doesn't leak) plus small spot on tailgate and end of one gutter (have been previously touched-in).
Being a posher 1.8EX means it has the 12v Prelude-type carb-fed engine giving circa 100bhp, it's a manual (5-speed) and has lots of toys like PAS, EW+SR, stainless wheel rings, moquette interior and period factory stereo radio/cassette. As a facelift 3dr it has the sloped nose and all the chrome trim blacked out for add sportiness! It's fast, smooth, handles nicely and always starts well - initially I found it a trifle dull, but then its competence grew on me and now I think it's fantastic. It's the smoothest carb-fed engine I've ever had, once it's warmed up just a tiny bit it feels like injection, honestly.
MoT is due August 25th, tax end of August. Shortly after purchase I got the cam belt done (no need for water pump as this is separate and tensioner was fine), otherwise it's been fantastic for everyday use.
Run it bog-stock and you'll still have an unusual yet practical runaround. Easy mod's would be wheels (4x100mm PCD) and I suppose lowering - coils all round, maybe some aftermarket ones for a Prelude would fit if you didn't want to chop them?
Price? About £450 with the tax on it. Cash talks, sensible offers accepted on an easy sale. So, anyone interested?
