Here is my Vauxhall Ventora for sale, affectionatley know as the 'Big Red Barge'
Straight 6 - 3.3ltr engine
4 on the floor maual
Everything is solid, the gear changes are better than a new car, the steering is positive and the interior isn't in bad nick either.
All brakes are right bang on standard, and the tyre treds are like new, it has a new spare and another tyre in the boot too.
Rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo, complete head turner.
It's in good condition, not even for her age, 1969, she's in good condition generally, I think some bits of filler have been applied here and there but not to a massive extent. It looks like it had been repaired sympathetically. I bought it off a bloke who bought it off a bloke so there isn't much history with it, which in my eyes is a shame. The story goes that it was used by an old guy in the village to tow his little trailer around locally for years and years, then it was dry stored in a barn for some years, only to be reborn again.
The bloke (also local farmer type) that I bought it from had it resprayed in Post Box red, which as you can see from the photos works quite well. It isn't a perfect job, in fact when he told me that his mate who sprayed it does it for a living I uttered, "well he can't earn that much money then" which went down like a lead balloon...
As you might be able to make out from the photo's she has 2 side exit exhausts, which sound fantastic, and after market 'bullet' style mirrors too.
She has about 4 months MOT and 6 months Tax (tax exempt anyways)
If I get what I want for her then I will put 12 months MOT on.
Like I say it get comments all the time, I have only driven it 4 or 5 times since driving her up from Lincoln to Halifax.
The engine runs loverly but she has an oil leak so I would advise either buying in to Castrol or trailering away.....but she will drive, and does very well so it's your choice really. Comes with a spare fuel tank, I think the other one seeps over 3/4 full and some fog lights and 'period' relined brake shoes.
The paint job like I say isn't brilliant but is very 'pass-able'
I am unsure of values of these rare beasties but I have an example, all be it a bit more sedate and for the purest than mine here of what one fetched on Ebay a month back Here That's right £2903.00
I am now asking a mere £1600 ovno for this one.
Available for view in Halifax just contact me on 07914 578510
Cheers
Jay
