Hey guys, i'm in need of a set of Brake calipers for the mk2 escort. Its been dragging left for a while and after inspection seems left sie calipers isnt working as it should. Anyone know of anywhere to help?
Also has anyone got or know of a air cleaner box for a 1600 Mk2 Escort on a webber? or from a capri, cortina or sierra??

Does it drag all the time or when braking?? Thing is, if the left side isn't working properly then it should be pulling right!!!  Have you tried gently levering the pistons in & then back out with the pedal repeatedly for a whole weekend?? ;D What do the discs look like?? Could try second hand from one of the dealers/breakers in CF. I think new you'll be looking at upto £100 the pair exchange!! Can't help with a air cleaner box except again from one of the specialist breakers. |

The car wants to go left all the time really, which leads me tobelieve its binding a touch, and on braking it likes the curb! My mech had the car for a few days in the week, and i trust what he says as he's a mate and been around old fords for a long time (racing them, and road etc).

You sure you haven'b biffed your wheel against a kerb and knocked your tracking out. Also check your tyres all over, including the "inboard" face - a small imperfection in a tyre can cause this kind of pulling in my experience. (oh and it's quite unpleasant if they "pop" too!  ) |

Also worth checking that you're not driving with your left wheels in a load of spilt treacle or something.

also check that the steering wheel is pointing straight ahead. I find that turning it causes the car to pull violently in the direction I turn the wheel!
