Up for sale is my Cornflower Blue 1985 Citroen GSA Special. The car is imaculate, has been waxoyled every year and has never been welded!! The car has an aircooled 1299cc Flat-four twin over head cam engine with hemispherical combustion chambers. It also benefits from a 5 speed gearbox. It started off life as a Special (basic model to you and me)but has been upgraded by the previous owner so most of the interior trim is now Pallas(top of the range). This means it has a rev counter, plusher more comfortable seats, plusher door trims, rear arm rest etc. The car also runs on factory-fitted alloy wheels.
This car has some amazing features including the legendary Hydro-pneumatic suspension. The brakes, which are connected to the main hydraulic system, are ridiculously powerfull. They are discs allround and the front ones are inboard, mounted next to the diff. The dashboard is like something from Star Trek, with typical Citroen speedo and rev counter in the form of rotating barrels.
The car drives brilliantly - it feels modern despite the fact it's over 20 years old. The engine is really free revving and feels more like a 1.6 than a 1.3. It cruises at 70-80 with absolutely no problems and will supposidly make 100mph. The suspension all works fine (raises properly when the car is started)and feels like you're gliding on air....it's very strange 'till you get use to it!
The only bad points on the car(and they are pretty minor)are that the paintwork(although in very good condition)doesn't match perfectly on some panels(although it's pretty close)and there is some surface rust on the bottom inside edge of three of the doors - not visible from the outside. The good news regarding this is that I will include three perfect replacement doors in the sale!
Included in the sale are two brand new 145r15 tyres, a factory supplied tow bar (removable!)and the above mentioned doors. The car is MOT'd 'till November and taxed 'till May.
I very much doubt you will find a better GSA in the country than this for the money - there are apparently only 200 left in Britain! The price I'm asking is £1500ono. If you're interested please get in touch! Will consider swap for good pre 1980 Mini!
