Some of you may remember I posted this in a scrapyard spot thread, but thought it deserved it's own. I was at Copes of Earlswood again today and the Honda Quintet is still for sale. So I asked a bit more about it, and the scrapyard owner was very happy to hear some interest and even spent some time swapping a battery onto it so I could hear it running, and that it does very nicely! Started first time with a freshly battery once the fuel had been pumped through Pics speak for themselves really, it's a tidy overall car with little bits of bubbling here and there, and it has seen some paint touch ups in places. Came in from an old chap, who apparently really loved the old thing - which can be seen judging by the waxoyl in places, and he's kept ontop of the little rust that has come through. It all looks very solid structurally! All tyres are good etc, drove it up the drive and clutch bites well. Couldn't get the headlights to work (dodgy switch doesn't seem to click), and the steering wheel wasnt straight.... I'd be tempted myself, but I just don't *really* click with it... and lack of storage etc.. but thought I'd throw it out there. He wants £200, Not got MOT or Tax, he said it had MOT when it was brought in though. Anyway... pictars...       |

Nice- havent seen one since the war. Bearing in mind that the car is worth about £110 to him in scrap, after he has removed the engine for heavy scrap and flattened the body for light iron £200 isnt all that bad. Why is it in there? MOT failure? *edit* ignore that last bit, ive read your post properly! Soooo, could get another ticket fairly easily. This car has got the "wtf is that factor! It seems I'm a bit of a Honda n00b, the headlights most likely do work, just that I was thinking the headlight switch was the foglight one, and ofcourse they wont come on without headlights - which are on the stalk! Agreed - it's certainly very reasonable in terms of price. AFAIK it didn't come in as an MOT failure, the previous owner had just given up driving is the impression I got. Also - it's done around 80k, can't remember exactly - it does 'sound' very very sweet though |

I'd fuggin love that me, it looks class. When SteveP first put it up on here I wrote down the phone no. of the scrapyard in my diary and fathomed out how to get there on my way home from Pboro on a Friday.
Luckily I have been scuppered from going there every friday so far by one thing or another! Scupped this friday too by having to go rounding up 75 bits and picking my Audi up from JonCedric.
I know if I go there I will end up buying it, so hopefully something will come up next friday too.
