For Sale!
Right then, here be a 1957 Ford Consul (remember kiddies, no tax on this puppy, stick it to the man in style!) it left the factory looking like this:
If you like that above then I advise you push the back button, because this isn't for the purists out there, you heard, PUSH THE BACK BUTTON! You'll only get your knickers in a knot.
Now, for those still reading, grats, you're one step closer to being eligible to own this car.
I'll give the brief rundown on mechanicals before getting onto the heavy stuff:
* Ford Capri running gear, this includes front suspension, rear axle + suspension and also a 2litre pinto. Good times! The exhaust fell off after the local hot rod cruise and got ran over by a transit van! much to my amusement, it was scaffold pole mind, so it wasn't dented, didn't re attach due to its weight, a new one can be fitted for a few quid, it sounds like a WW2 bomber ATM, which can only be a good thing!
* New rear brakes fitted last summer, have front disc's and pads to go on if you want but found they just needed a bleed and she pulls up gravy now!
* Pinto smokes a bit, has fresh oil and drives fine, the starter is a bit slow kicking over but she starts and drives, the auto box is a bit slow going into drive, could be a clogged filter in the box, not sure. It's fitted with a twin choke weber carb.
You still with me here? Good stuff, all the panty waists should have been scared off, now onto the real good stuff ;D It's not for girls!!
The bodywork side of things:
* Pinstriped boot, bonnet and dash
* Whitewall fronts (cross plys, naturally) for that real good handling, you love it you slaaag!
* The car has been extensively modified, and looks blasted pimp. Roof chop and couped,
* Old '54 mercury tails (not the German merc ) have been fitted to the rear.
* '53 ford crestline victoria grille on front, minus the dagmar titty.
* Rear has lowering blocks fitted, it drags its butt about and the stance is awesome.
* Have all new glass cut (except front screen), will fit before sale.
* New passenger sill is mid fitment, will be welding this up on the weekend and tidying her up ready for goodbyes.
* Finished in red oxide primer, has a green with silver flame paint job underneath, the striped flames show through and looks cool.
She's got a few rust issues, bottoms of doors, the pan is solid, footwells are shiney, under bonnet area is fine and also the chassis is good, just the sills which are a tad crusty. One has been sorted, its a few days work to do the other.
This car rips, turns heads, feel like the king of the road behind the wheel, bench seat up front, neckers nob on the wheel, elbow on the door top, summer sun, leaning out window to see traffic lights. We know now. Mot ran out September I believe, can put on a new one if the price is right.
Looking for £1200 ideally, its a killer car.
Cheers for looking, are you man enough for it? Will mummy get angry if you buy it? DO IT! he he
