Here's my 83 Datsun 910 Bluebird SSS. It's a 2 litre twin carb five speed manual. Rear wheel drive. A nice original car that was once grey but has been extensively restored and sprayed red by the previous owner. The paint job isn't great but mostly looks nice, especially in the sun.
I have had it garaged for the past 18 months and only really done a few hundred miles in that time. The mileage is 94000ish. It runs perfectly.
The car, like most Datsuns, is ultra reliable and holds oil and water, starts first time, has no leaks, no rattles, no strange noises, no issues at all. It has an MOT until May 31st. The last MOT was an easy pass - I replaced a steering gaitor and changed a headlight bulb.
The standard two litre engine is spirited and runs really well. The temperature gauge stays in the middle even on hot days. The clutch is fine with no slippage. The battery is newish. The exhaust is in great condition and has a big fat silencer box on the back.
The body work is nice - there's no dents or damage but the panels are not perfect - there's a slight wave in one front wing I think. The chrome round the back windscreen is perfect but the back bumper chrome is cracking and worn. The electric sunroof has a couple of tiny rust bubbles and a scrape in the paint. The seal between the rear quarterlight and the door windows is good (it's a pillarless coupe so no door pillar) and there are no leaks from any of the window or door seals.
The suspension and brakes are excellent. I've lowered it 2.5 inches using custom springs which are stiffer than the originals. The ride is firm but you can really throw it round roundabouts and corners. The stiffness would lend it to drifting - not something I've ever done. The original springs are included in the sale if you would like to return it to standard ride height. It has an SSS grille and original JDM spec mirrors (although the mirrors could do with a respray - they're very weathered) and I have a spare UK grill, and another JDM SSS grille.
The wheels on the car are 15 X 7 inch 0 offset Konig Rewinds - they are dirty in the pics but are almost unmarked - one has a tiny kerb rash. The tyres are all brand new. I'll also include the 16 inch five spoke modern wheels with good tyres that came with the car and a set of 14 X 7 Datsun Iron Cross alloys (no tyres).
Inside is all very clean and tidy. There's a slight rip in the drivers seat. All the guages work, the interior light works, the back seat looks like it has hardly been used. The dash is in great condition. All the electrics work fine. It has an OK stereo with CD player and four speakers with a sub in the boot - this can be very loud. The electric aerial works.
There's no tax with the car as it hasn't been used since September. I just started it (first time and ran really well) today. It's a nice useable classic that you can drive every day. Reliable, quick enough, fun and it gets attention. Easy to maintain and parts are easy enough to find via the Datsun Owners Ckub. It doesn't need anything and should pass its next MOT without any fuss. It's rust free and should be trouble free. It has a sheaf of receipts and paperwork, loads of old MOTs, a CD of images from its restoration and a Haynes manual.
I'm asking £1700. If it doesn't go soon I'll put it on Ebay next week. It has to go to make way for a new project. The car's in Surbiton, south west London.
