To replace the one in my 1983 Metro 1.3HLE, as it's all gone a bit wrong...
Engine got a bit tappy so last Sunday changed the oil. This is what it looks like!!!
This is what remains in the drain pan, possibly bearing material:-
this came out too, about 11/16 inch long, and roughly the correct radius to be piston ring.
The magnetic insert in the drain plug was plastered in swarf ( I know what should come out of an A series sump at oil change time - this was 5-10 times more!) still runs fine, reckon most of the damage's down to 4th making a chi-chi-chi noise and gradually wearing.
Methinks the engine/gearbox is shot!!!!!!!!!!
So if there's one out there, preferably somewhere within easy reach of Leeds, get in touch!
