Just wondering if anyones intrested in this, its been a on/off project of mine for around 2yrs, but its getting to the point where I cant see me finishing it.
Its a 1978 Opel Kadett 2dr Saloon, car was T&T'd when I got it and I ran it for a few months, before taking it off the road when fuel pump gave up on the 1.2 engine, I then decided to put an XE lump in and use it as a track car.
Shell is solid no major rot (had 50p size plate on sill for last MOT) has had new front wings at some point and some work on the inner wings in the past, all still solid.
I stripped it out inc sound proofing, dash and doorcards still in, fitted some old skool style buckets (Cobra).
It has brand new Spax adjustable dampers front and rear, custom made 60mm lowered springs uprated to suit track use and the weight of the XE.
The engine is sat in on Carlton mounts with 5 spd Manta Getrag box, will need a prop making, I have a few standard Manta one's from which one can be made to suit.
Car runs Manta B rear axle which is a fair bit wider than standrad track (55mm) so arches maybe needed, it also has LSD.
Both the axle and engine mounts need minor things to finish (spacers making, extra mounting points welding onto car) but everything is secure and the car can be towed about etc.
Other parts I have, are larger vented front brake setup, to go behind 13" rims (new).
R1 bike carbs on custom inlet manifold rebuilt and jetted to suit 2.0l XE.
Set of 7x13 revolution 4 spokes. (used)
Manta dizzy setup.
