As mentioned in another thread the wifes burgandy mk4 escort is now up fror grabs. One elderly owner before her who kept it cosseted in a garage and hardly drove it. Always well looked after. The only rust is a few scabs on the back arches. Its very reliable and drives nice and tight. Its only being replaced because a newer rover 214 has come up for grabs and that would be more suitable for my motorway commute. I use it for work at night, the missus takes it to work during the day seems a shame to rack up big miles on such a nice little car but saying that weve never had any trouble with it at all.
*6 months MOT and TAX *43K *1 previous owner *Recent new parts including a part exhaust and battery *Good body *Great crossflow engine with the newer style ignition pack *I can get 48 MPG out of it if I'm careful
I cant think of anything I need to mention.
£300
Pics to follow!

PM recieved!
It is very tidy for an escort of that vintage, The only welding its had done is a patch in the boot that was done by the previous owner to get it though the MOT in 2004 and when we MOTd it last had it needed a small patch under one rear arch due to rust and a little filler, although it was a borderline item, nothing serious at all. Its dirty on those pics, with a good wash and a wax it really REALLY shines! from certain angles it looks like a new car, the plastics and the rear lights have that "new" look when its had a good wash. Even the inside still has a bit of that new car smell to it. Although to be fair it hasnt been cleaned in a few weeks so will need a bit of elbow grease to get it back to its former glory.
I just realised today that its 19 years old, not bad going for a 1980's Ford!
I feel a bit bad for getting rid of it as its such a good little runner and has years left in it, but I guess theres a limit to how many daily drivers you can have. Thats my problem. If I have a nice reliable car I end up selling it, if I have something that needs lots of welding and keeps breaking down I keep it for years!
One thing Ive just remembered.... The starter sometimes plays up but it does always start first time once the starter "engages" the flywhee, Its just bit lazy. If I get chance ill pop down the local scrappies and replace it. I had cured the problem by taking the starter out and cleaning it up but alas the problems crept back... Typical!
