Hello Folks,
Heavy heart and all that but lots of soul searching means this has to go.............
Spec, 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Crossfire Injection model.
Its not though, has an ex Range Rover 3.5 and borg warner auto box. All the rest is pure yank. Its in good sound condition bodily, couple of small and not life threatening rust bubbles, I would describe as surface only. Interior is usual yank fare of this age, bit rough and slightly tatty looking but all works as should, leccy windows work, leccy boot release all OK etc. T-tops are perfect and do not leak at all.
Has had a couple of little patches welded onto underside of sills before (dunno where or when) Needs a small cosmetic tidy on rear valance and small patch on non structural part of inner front wing.
Paintwork is OK when wet or at a distance but basically someone has sprayed it and its shrunk slightly and is crazed and matt.
Engine runs strong, box changes well and it basically runs and drives. Exhaust is flexi pipe and not finished. Its got no choke to the SU carbs so starting from cold at the minute is a faff about.
Its got good condition factory alloys with virtually brand new Cooper Cobra radials all round, the tyres are worth 450 quid alone.
I would honestly say this car needs a couple of weekends work to make useable as it is, or more if you want to spray it up or put an original engine/trans back in. Few other small jobs required but these are small change really (like needs correct filler cap, radiator fan wiring up, heater fan housing repairing etc)
As has been said on this board in the past I believe these 3RD gen GM cars are going to get expensive really soon due to 70's motors becoming collectable and these being the next best thing.
I've been told I could break it withing the AAC or similar and make more than I'm asking but I don't have any inclination to do that.
I'm looking for 575 quid or best offer, If full price is paid I will throw in a set of uni-lug Turbo Vec look wheels which will fit when using the correct lug nuts.
Any questions just ask. Bear in mind it will need transporting or trailering as its NOT road legal right now.
( I should add this is going to make way for something more mainstream (read english) retro-ride ish. If anyone has something they might wish to swap Id be happy to talk)
