Right then....
Rangie's off the road now, the alternator packed up on Thursday and given the choice between buying a new one at almost £700 (Nissan, and 24volt....gulp) or having the existing one reconned I'm going for the latter option, and taking the opportunity to get started on all the jobs I've been meaning to do but have been to do but haven't had time to while I've been using it every day.
So need to find myself another daily this week, which at the minute I haven't actually got room for....
1992 Peugeot 205 XLD 3-door, MOT ran out in October, SORN since 30-9-06, resplendent in dark blue with (very very tidy) grey interior, 73000 miles on the clock, has small glass Britax sunroof (which doesnt leak since I splurged mastic round the edge ;D ), I was using this every day for about 5 months, only stopped using it because the heater matrix sprung a leak (common on 205's). i would put it back on the road but time is of the essence, I've got the use of SWMBO's car this week, but need wheels by the weekend. And besides, I HATE the Pug, I know a lot of people love them but I'm not one of 'em.....
Good bits? 54mpg, uses no oil or water (well it didnt until the heater matrix leaked, but I never ran it without topping it up so it never got chance to overheat), always starts first time and reasonably nippy for an 1800 diseasel. Had new front section of exhaust just before I stopped using it. Oh, and has a 205 GTI steering wheel (great....with no PAS )
Bad bits... aforementioned heater, has dented bonnet and NSF wing has crazed paint (that's crazed as in physically crazed, not psychotic ;D), sunroof is sealed shut (but not messily so) and stereo doesn't work.
Will take some pics when I can get home in the light if anyone's interested.
Best offer this week takes it, needs to be gone by the weekend, I need the space more than the money.
Brian
