Some of you may remember me posting a thread about one of my customers disappearing off the face. At that point, I'd got the car running and the clutch hyds all replaced and all that stopped it from driving was the lack of a gearstick. The 'owner' promised me one along with payment but neither has materialised. Has anyone got a gearstick for this car out there? In case it makes a difference, its a 5-speed. Thanks for any help. Jon

I have the cheapest hourly rate and return the highest quality product. Most of his bill is for parts he wanted me to change.
Since I took his car on, I have been warned by several RR members that he has a reputation for not paying, both on here and especially on Ebay.
Fear not. He has a very distinctive surname and his father is the only one of that name listed by BT. Found his address and home number this morning. He's been warned. Its so easy to take someone to court nowadays.
BTW. What is the value of a G reg. 136 coupe with discs all round and rusty sills and bonnet?

hope you didnt take my Q the wrong way, wasn't intending to say you're expensive, and i've seen some of the quality work you've done. if the car is mot'd and new sills done (they're like £27 delivered each) then £600-£1000 given right colour combo and the discs. without mot and with rusty sills (which most skoda owners cant/wont/don't tackle tbh) its in the sort of £10-£300 on condition bracket

What things do you specialize in? Welding, Mechanicals, electrics, spraying....all of them?
I need some work doing on my boring 406 diesel estate at the moment with the steering and possibly gearbox/diff

still wanting the gearlever? Yes please. Can't do a thing with the car without one. If the owner stops acting the fool then it will be ready to go. If not, I like the look of the price with MoT. Any help with the stick appreciated. Waterboy, I do the lot. My MiG and I are joined at the hip and I have spanners for fingers. I exhale glass-smooth paint and have a built-in engineering eye. Though I prefer recommissioning/restoration work I can and will tackle anything to pay the bills. Have extravagant wife and four v. expensive kids to keep me at the workshop. Fitting of LPG systems is now beginning to take up a lot of my time. It makes running cars like Datsun Cedrics very affordable. LPG is available 12 miles away at 35p/litre. Thats my trumpet all blown. Jon
