Ive got a cheeky 2.8i capri thats well in your budget @ £600 Paint is a bit faded & scruffy, but bodywork is in very good nick, wicked fun & drives really well (apart from its pulling to one side at the mo for some bizarre reason but i havent had time to check out whats causing it ) MOT ran out in about sept, but apart from the side pulling i can see no reason why it wont go straight thro another one If you are interested ill sort some pics out Also got a funky red with brown interior granny waggon MK1 Jetta in ace condition with a years ticket @ £750 Claire

this is for sale on buryretroford.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=118 hello, i'm looking to sell my 1.6 capri laser! i cant really think of much to say about it on here, i'll put a new carb on it before it goes! it's a really good car, it's been my daily driver for about 6 months. i'm sad that i have to sell it, so i really hope someone in the club will want it. i'm asking £1500 for it but for someone in the club i'll sell it for £1000

Well, picked up the car and it lasted............30 miles! Overheated and popped the caps. Pretty much figure the heads gone as it wont idle properly either. on top of that, no way should it have passed an MOT recently. The brakes are appalling . Need to be pumped to work and discs are VERY pitted and when braking on the A1, the car was trying to go all over the place. The heater and blower doesn't work, nor does the rear wash or wipe. light comes on for the heated window but havent tried it yet. Lovely whine from the transmission oand/or diff too However, ive still kept it as the bodyworks reasonable and repairs even on a head gasket won't be dear compared to modern curse word. But basically, ive finally got a capri again and even if it doesnt work, I refuse to give one up again! ;D

Sorry to hear you've had some bad luck with it, was it sold as a 'no problems' car or was it sold as seen? Still, like you say it isn't going to cost too much to get right, get a thread started in the readers rides section so we can see how your getting on
