Well, here goes:
firstly and most importantly these parts are NOT of an A-series powered metro, they are off the more modern one ( rover K) the reason I am putting them here is simply to advertise them incase of people wanting to play or do a converstion or similar.
My own personal plan was to put this engine /gearbox/ etc.... into a spridget or a spitfire converting the engine to RWD as done by the lads at frontline. I have managed to collect most of the parts to do the job but another project took over ( my spitfire is going to get a nice big engine hee hee). anyhow, HERE is the list:
-- Rover K series 1.4 GTI engine ( this is the single point injection model out of a metro GTI, pumping out about 110 Bhp out of the factory) the head is good, the engine was a runner when it was pulled out of the metro ( big rear end accident) I saw the engine running before the car was smashed up ( a mate sold it to me) it was removed, drained of fluids, oiled, bunged up, covered n plastic and stored under cover. It hasnt moved from where It touched the ground. ( oh and it was on about 45,000 as I remember)
-- Rover K series ECU ( again a worker when pulled) with entire 'engine' loom
-- Rover K series inlet manifold ( the SPI one)
-- Rover K series exhaust manifold ( GTI type)
-- Rover metro GTI slimline radiator ( this thing is like an inch and a half thick)
-- other assorted metor parts plz ask
-- Ford gearbox with removable bell housing ( there is a debate as to if it is a 'type 9' a 'type 3' or a 'rocket box' I personally believe it to be a 'type 3')
the gearbox is in an unknown condition but everything turns and each gear will select with a nice positive action.
thats about all I can remember atm, as I think of more I'll post about it
all you should need is a new drive shaft and a new bell housing and it will all fit into a spridget turning your old sports car into a reliable modern beast
www.mgcars.org.uk/frontline <-- these guys know all about it!!
if you are interested make me a reasonable offer and I'll let you know If the offer will do
I'd like to make some money off all of this if I can, but cutting my losses will do if it has to!
Photos to follow when i can get to the engine
am in south yorkshire ( or parts can make it to loughborough if required)
