This was a thread asking for a brake bias valve, but its now a thread asking for lots and lots of bits for Project Kitty.
what I need is: - Brake bias Valve
- 6 x nuts for seatbelt bolts - cant find them anywhere
- fiat punto sporting mk2 1.2 16V flywheel
- Fiat punto sporting mk1 1.2 16v ECU, bottom section of manifold + injectors, and fuel rail, all engine sensors, crank pulley, exhaust manifold, coil packs + other ignition bits, starter motor, and ignition/injection loom(its seperate to the rest of the cars loom)
- Bucket seats; these need to be pretty narrow, and either black or brown, and preferably retro; no need for them to be in date
- 4 point harnesses, also no need to be in date but must be black/brown and cool
- 12" mountney or simular - fiesta mk1 calipers
- suzuki SJ413 jeep clutch disc and release bearing
- 10mm ID thick walled tube, about 1' of it, to be wleded in to reinforce/ stop it collapseing where I have made holes for trailing arms through chassis rails.
- Monster Tach or simular
- 2 x small motorbike rear coil overs
- low pressure fuel pump
- high pressure fuel pump
- twin downdraugh carbs (36s or somthing nice n little)
- fire extinguisher kit
- fibregalss battery box
so what you got in ya garage? obviously I cant afford to buy all that lot in one go right now, nor do I need it all right away, but I am just having a look about, and trying to get a few bits crossed off my list as knowing who has them / where I can get them and how much.
I will keep this upto date as I find I need more bits / get bits.
Ta,
Nick

Can get you a brake bias valve from work quite easly. They are just pneumatic regulators. Not till the new year now tho of course.
Can probably find you some fiesta calipers that would need a rebuild (vented xr2 or non-vented 1.1?)
Seatbelt nuts? you mean 7/16 unf nuts yes? can probably find some of them too.

solid 1.1 discs. could you hang on ot them a while if you hav any, as I want to get my discs re drilled and check thats all O.K. first (probably late jan/feb)?
yup, thats the ones, havent got out to the local nut and bolt shop yet, but if you have some you could send with the bias valve it would save alot of hassel.
Cheers

When my 510 goes back on the road, I'll be fitting some new, modern race seats. The ones in it now are old school black vinyl fixed buckets with slots for four points. I'd sell them for £75 for the pair and I might even have some old four points I can throw in for free (maybe...I'll have a look in the shed). Here's what they look like... ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/ratdat/510/0910_0159.jpg) -Ed

They are very narrow as they were previously in a Mini and even the 510 is a narrow car. You can see how much room there is between them in the pic. if you want I'll measure them just to be sure they'll fit.

I didnt think that a pneumatic regulator would take brake fluid at 3000psi?

Its possible to get a pneumatic or hydraulic regulator that will handle the pressure they are more specialist though and price wise they work out almost the same as a normal brake bias valve. But normally the seals don't like brake fluid. I have some at work that are rated to 4000 bar but those are rather expensive. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I posted my reply, because a simple comment like you can use a pneumatic regulator as a brake bias valve, can soon become common knowledge because it's on the internet. If it was a highly specialised, expensive piece of kit, not a real problem, but a lot of people have old regulators kicking around the garage from welding sets or compressors. Now you have 'cheap mod' that you can do in a couple of hours that will start to circulate on every car forum out there. A pneumatic regulator is just that...a PNEUMATIC regulator. All the orifices, valve seats etc are designed for the CV of air or gas. Air is compressible, fluid isn't - the regulator will have been designed with this variable factored in. There a many types of regulator - relieving/non-relieving, pilot operated etc etc. A pneumatic regulator is an inherently more complicated device than a brake bias valve and as such will have a completely different failure mode to a brake bias valve. Will it fail safe? You could argue even a catastrophic failure on a regulator in a rear brake circuit (of a front/rear split system) will just leave you with no rear brakes and the fronts will stop you OK, so in theory this isn't single point failure. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) The wetted surfaces will not be designed for brake fluid. Most will have elasotomeric seals - not all are going to be compatible with brake fluid. Sure there are plenty of pneumatic regulators designed to cope with >3000psi ( in fact most bottle reg's should) but this isn't the point - will your average punter know the difference? So again, please don't use a pneumatic regulator as brake bias valve. After all, a proper brake bias valve is not that much. Sorry to thread jack but safety first and all that.... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Back on topic, sorry don't have any parts I can help with, but I do have a Mk1 Punto as a daily hack, so if you need any pointers or photos of where all the tubes and wires plug in, let me know.
