... Lesson one. No matter how good your back up, god hates you real bad!
working on a file on our file server this afternoon for a science book. File server runs automatic software update. Designer lady says,, "shall I restart this?" Noooo I say as my 30Mb Quark file is saving at that moment.
"oops" server is switched off. When back up, file is now corrupt, grrr. Never mind we have a back up. Hooray it works, file from yesterday, about 1 hour lost tops...phew.
Open backed up file from back up drive. Automatic back up software kicks in while file is open and overwrites good file with corrupted file. Open file on my machine now won't save. Never mind... can copy and paste each page into new document, hours work tops...then...Quark Xpress has unexpectidly quit!!
Now, no file, backup copy corrupt and a whole weekend ahead redooing all the lost work.
