Right been looking on Ebay at Tr6s for restoration and they are askin silly money for them. We already have one had it for about 5 years now it the american export version 2.5 Injection Straight 6 i belive.
All the wibblepoo work has been done on the car now, like the Floor Sills and Door Posts just need new exhaust and rear valence. we are looking to sell it, well i am forcing me folks to cus i want the double car garage for the Next project after the roadster, (midge is cmoing back out to play)
To cut the story short why are they going for so much, i mean i don't mind cus means we can sell this for more than we bought it and make a nice profit, i like the cars and yer they are quite quick but for some reason i just don't have thelove for them.
Are they in demand/ Not many name - unlike Triumph aint it i mean Spitties are everywhere like Midgets and the like.
i know all the components are still avaliable cus we purchased loads.

All comes down to the laws of supply and demand, I reckon. The TR6 is really an archetypal "classic" car. By that I mean that they appeal to a slightly older generation, largerly with a fair bit of cash. As it has all the right ingredients for a "classic" - drop-top, good looks and rip-snorting but fairly simple mechanicals, it will always be a popular (if slightly obvious IMO) choice. If you think about when these cars were made, there's a clue too - late 60's early 70's - the sort of people who couldn't afford them then are now in their 50's.....so likely to be empty-nesters with a high disposable income - thus they can afford to pay to achieve their dream. Add to that there aren't THAT many about - not that they are particularly rare, but their status and the demographics of the owners mean that they are likely to hang on to them. So there are more buyers than there are cars, hence the high prices.

If you are planning to sell the TR6, can Isuggest advertising it in the classifieds of the "top end" classic car ads, e.g. Classics & Sportscar. OK, so it will cost more than an eBay listing, and could take longer, but you'll be more likely to achieve a good price, and not get mucked about by dreamers.

Its all Top Gears fault. They said that the TR6 was the only drop top a man could drive without looking like a shirt lifting batty boy.

LOL the again we got the Motor for 250 Quid done all the welding and made sure the Chassis was ok, re treated it, she runs and wow without the main exhaust sounds great, When we first got her i was going to take the motor out and convert my GT but the handling was not great on the MGC then again its not good on a B also the Front Suspension area has a total rework for the sump.
