How many of us have one is our car? I've had 2 major petrol leaks on the mg over the past 4 months so decided it was time to to look at getting one, so went to Halfords to price one up and they had some in there for £34.39 on offer (about £8off) and its a quite big 2kg refillable one with mounting bracket so i bought one. £34.39 to save your car from going up in smoke seems well worth it to me, should of got one ages ago... So the point of this post? well it might be worth you looking in your local halfords to see whats on offer, they had small 1kg ones for about £20.......would be better than nothing.

I have one in the Nymph. Hopefully it would stop a small fire from becoming a big one.

I have a small 'un in the Merc. Unfortunately, I never got around to fitting it inside the car, so it sits in the boot - not good for rapid fire-fighting! It's on my list of things to do (especially as I'm plumbing in fuel injection... it's even more important!!)

Ive always had one in all my cars but i took mine out of my old mini one day when id been cleaning it out. i forgot and left an oily rag down the back of the engine on the manifold which caught fire. i ragged to my girlfriends house where she poored a sink full of washing up water over it! nice. so now i never take it out!

Yeah, got one. It's in the passenger footwell, though it was going to go on top the tunnel as Rallystuff.

i used a bottle of irn bru to douse the steering column on my manta b when it took flame (while i was driving) .after that i blagged a halon one of a friend who runs a business supplying them to factories.it lives in my van now.this thread has just prompted me to have it checked.although i might aswell get a new one cos your not supposed to use halon anymore. a worth while investment to save your car or your life!
