Well I've got my Wedge Panel Van with a 1.8 8v (K-Jet) Golf GTI motor in that still need's a bit of work to get finished.
The motor is bolted in with all the right diesel bits and just needs a few bits to be finished off.
- The fuel pump needs mounting up near the fuel tank
- The braided fuel hoses need to be ordered (Shouldn't cost more than £70 from Goddridge)
- The fuel lines need to be run to and from the fuel pump
- About 10 wires need connecting up for the warm start valve etc.
- The metering head needs some mounting brackets put in place
All of this shouldn't take more than a week to do at the most (if you have any idea what you are doing) or a couple weeks if you don't but can read a haynes.
The van itself is not bad. It's no minter and is in a rattle can satin black finish, but it's not curse word either. Underneath is solid as a rock. The body work is tatty, but nothing that needs attention urgently. One wheel arch is made out of fibreglass and filler (badly) but other than that it's pretty solid, just abit scabby in places. It's also lowered 60mm
There's ratty Porsche tombstone seats fitted and a nice oak faced day/weekend interior fitted.
IT's not Taxed or Tested as I took it off the road when I was doing the conversion (that's when the last MOT ran out) but for an MOT it shouldn't need any more than to get it running and the windscreen needs replacing as it's chipped, but I'll throw a spare in.
It could do with the front wheel bearings being replaced as they are a bit noisy, but I've also got them to include.
I would like £1000, as it owes me quite alot more than that! I will swap or part ex for anything cool though (VW or not!). Try me...
I'll sort some pics of it now if anyone's interested... I'm not fussed about selling it, it's just I don't have the time or space at the minute and really could do without the extra worries of wondering when I'm gonna get it done!
The van is located just outside Reading
Here's a few Pics of it over the last few months...
The GTI motor pretty much as it stands now..
The Interior just after I fitted it:
The day I picked it up (March 2005):
The day I painted it:
As it is now after a few months of sitting about in a lockup
