Can't help in the supplying of the carbs, but I was just wondering why you're going for 45s / 48s? I'm not that familiar with your set-up or anything, but I always assumed that 40s were good for anything up to 2 litres? I'm not doubting your choice, just interested in your proj

Well, the Sprint's quite an efficient little air pump, 40's aren't really big enough for it . They flow enough for 150BHP, but you can get that on HS6s. Nice noise though, and you do get a good boost in the bottom end of the torque range. 45's are the "best" for a Sprint, most racers use them and get 175-190BHP. They're not great for a road engine, but mine's reputedly cammed and does have a full terribly-fast-road exhaust system - if not, it'll give me an excuse to uprate the head. To get onto the bigger power range you need 48's, 50's, but that's overkill for a road engine mind. That takes you into the 210-280 range then! Full on race spec FTW! ;D I'm thinking fuel injection anyway but a nice set of carbs would be a good interim. Maybe even bike carbs, getting a manifold from Bogg brothers or similar

Aha, thanks for the clarification. I remember my bro saying that Weber and Dell'Orto prices have shot up recently because the factory's stopped making them (can't remember which factory). I'd love to see a bike carb conversion - that'd rock! And I bet it'd be cheaper than a set of 48's
