Not entirely sure if this is a good idea or not.....
I'm feeling the need for some proper old skool retro... you know, carbs 'n' shit ;D
But to finance something that won't need 1 billion hours of welding I'm prolly going to have to say farewell to my current steeds....
First the BMW...
140bhp twin-cam 16 valve engine
OK... it's got 176,000 on the clock but runs sweet as a nut. There's a full service history / every recipt from new and it's always been serviced either by BMW or BMW specialists.
Doesn't burn any oil, pulls very cleanly & no ominous noises
Viper2 remap chip for bosch ecu (NOT a power resistor of justice OBV!!!!!!), they claim 25bhp+... probably more like 5!
Suspension lowered 40mm rear / 60mm front with matched sports shocks. Axle bushes / control arm bushes done 1000 miles ago, recent full exhaust etc. etc.
17in Alpina style wheels (a bit kerbed ) with 40-series kumho ecsta tyres (less than 4000 miles on tryes) + also a set of 5 BBS X-spokes
Bodywork is excellent - not the usual rotten rubish! There's a minor bleb caused by a stonechip on the nsr wheelarch and a couple of small stonechips on the bonnet, but that's it. All the other usual rust traps are grot free!
Full 'shadowline' spec... black chrome window surrounds, and grille etc.
Inside cloth recaro-type seats in excellent order (no rips or tears or worn through bits), sunroof, electric windows, electric mirrors remote central locking + alarm / immobiliser system, face-off CD player, quality pioneer pod speakers & shelf speakers, 12in sony subwoofer in the boot, Kenwood amp etc. etc.
MoT & Tax to end June
Not a show winner, but much much better than the thrashed, abused, rusty barried up rubbish you'll see on eBay.
£1950 ono
And the truck....
1968 LWB truck cab
Ex-australia (was there 'till 77 so helped it stay grot free).
Runs, drives etc perfectly, cruises all day at 60 + unstoppable in the mud.
Noisey, crude, uncomfortable, spartan ;D
Has standard Land Rover oil leak.
Starts first turn of the key, every time.
Upper bodywork pretty good, few dents & ripples but that's part of the character. Has been recently painted - it used to be pink and some of this is showing through in places...
Underneath all solid, had a couple of patches in the past but it is 37 years old!! All the usual rot traps clear of horrors, bulkhead good, footwells solid & intact. Towbar with electrics. Have also a canvas tilt for it as well
10 months MoT & Tax, plus it's tax free!
£make me a sensible offer.... I don't know what figure to put on it... my old one sold for £895 and that was in much worse condition than this....
If there's no interest from here I'll probably knock the idea on the head.
I may have changed my mind by tomorrow as well ;D
