Can I tempt anyone with this fine filly?
It's a 1981 ex-MoD Landrover Series 3 (which means it actually drives like a car, not a boat / tractor! Dual-circuit servo'd brakes & more direct steering than the older ones. Oh the luxury! ).
Released from military service 6 years ago.
Long wheelbase, station wagon body with seating for 9+
2.25 Diesel (ag. fuel / veg oil / biodiesel anyone?) which will give sensible mpg.
Has an overdrive unit (operates on 3rd & 4th) so it will go a bit, and be quiet(ish) & give good mpg on the motorways
All the diffs / transfer boxes OK, engage & disengage as they should.
Strange cut-outs in the body ideal for carrying jerry cans or BEER!
Chassis is in perfect nick, needs no welding (a blessing with old landies).
Tidy interior.
Bodywork fairly straight.... it's now been repainted in matt 'desert' military paint ftw. No leaks in the top, bulkhead in excellent condition, perfect footwells.
Proper mudding tyres all nearly new.
New battery.
Bad bit is the engine is reluctant to propel it forward (or back).... so sold as a non-runner / project. No tax or MoT.
I reckon that a few hours fettling will see it right. Nice easy project for someone.
Asking price is £375 (or near offer)... which is stupidly cheap given the condition of the body etc. The overdrive unit is probably worth that on it's own.
Running / MoT'd it'd be worth £1000++ so there's gold in them there hills!
Collection from Bedfordshire (5mins A1 / A1M, 25mins M1)
PM for more info etc.
Thanks
Need a quick sale to fund imminent arrival of v8 rangie.
