I know there are some inaccuracies in the PCD chart,.. particularly VWs ,.. so can anyone help correct this stuff please :

could be wrong,
but I thought all 5-stud beetles are 5x205 and all 4 stud beetles are 4x130
not sure about the K70? but most of the others read OK to me....

I got caught out by the PCDs on Passats - not from the PCD chart on this site but somewhere else I can't remember... thought they were 5x112 (like the Merc) and ended up being 5x100  . Had the wheels shipped from Scotland too! Doh! Maybe there are variations withing the models on Passats? Not entirely sure.... |

Passats since 1996 have all been 5x112.... before that, the 'lesser' ones were 4x100 and the VR6 was 5x100....

I'm 99% sure the VW Sharan is 5x112 as it's just a rebadged Galaxy / Alhambra. Transporter is 5x112 too as Guz was fitting some Merc Pentas on his and they are definitely 5x112.

pre-67 bugs are "wide 5" - 5 x 205 post-67 bugs are 4 x 130 late model type 3's are 4 x 130 too as my fasty wears my old beetle rims. type 2, early ones (pre 67?) are 5x205 as you can swap early bug wheels onto them, late ones are 5x112 as Carlton/Merc/Volvo wheels fit with a bit of centre hole work. the Thing (181) seems wrong, i'd have thought it matched late beetle PCD - 4x130 Try www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/fitmentguide.asp to double-check |

Okay I was going through this morning, adding in a couple of new PCDs and fixing up the VW ones,.. and I've noticed something.
I've not got many actually old cars. I remember thinking this at the time, I though I'd get all the modern wheels on and then fill in the retro gaps. However its not worked out like that.
Soooo... I'm currently working on a solution. I can add in a Make and Vehicle without having the PCD. So I can start off by going through my big book of 70's cars and add in all the cars from that. I'm going to need some help tracking down the PCDs though ,.. anyone up for it?

I reckon we couild cover a lot of retro cars by asking fellow forummers what their cars PCD is - It won't be comprehensive but it'd be a start wouldn't it?  Mine's easy: All Mercedes new and old are 5x112 (except maybe the A Class and the Danny de Vito van thingies...) |

Skoda Fabia (not retro) 5*100 Discovery.... 5* Abi's Cars: (the samba isn't proper, as it should have 5*205 but is 5*112) 1991 Corrado 16v 4*100 1991 Polo GT Coupe 4*100 1987 T3 Caravelle 5*112 1969 VW Buggy 4*130 1972 Beetle 4*130 |

You can see it now, there we are in a car park. 'Oi! what you doin' wiv my car mate?'. How well would the answer of 'just measuring your PCD' go down?
I think a bit of measuring next time I'm at the breakers could be useful. There's loads there and all the wheels have been removed making it rather easy.
Planning on a trip in the next week or two for some Volvo bits.

my sigma s 4x112 and shes a 78 model Surely it's 4x114.3 (4.5")? Sorry, Hotwire - you know I can do most of these from memory...there's just so many. All Air-cooled VWs are 5x205mm when 5 stud or 4x130mm as 4...with the exception of the transporter range as below. ('67 is the change-over point for Beetles - in the UK the 1200 was 5 stud and the 1500 was 4 stud, I think all US Bugs were 4 stud in '67 though) Volkswagen Caravelle/transporters are 5x112 (bay window*/wedge/T4 all 5x112..not sure about later ones[post 95ish]) Some early bay-windows (67-70?) has 5x205) I'd be quite confident in saying all FWD VWs with 4 studs are 100mm. I'm not sure about the VR6 cars though. |

Scrapingscrap recently added more fuel to this theory with his snaps from Australia which included a Sprinter on Porsche Cup 17inchers! |
