Well, I've actually got around to sorting out a few bits on the iS!
First of all the poor running issue has been sorted, and yes - it was related to the exhaust! So having had a bit of a job chasing up an exhaust from the local factors we found one, set me back a whopping £91!! (Retail would have been £140+VAT, so well chuffed with that!).
The old one was bit of a curse word to get off tho'!!! Bring on the oxy-acetalyne and it got a bit easier...
This was all made that much easier by fitting up at the well-known tyre fitters that my brother-in-law works for - a particularly quiet afternoon proper-workwise meant we had the run of the place & much easier than trying to do it in the drive!!. So thought I may as well have a look at another few odds and sods.
I'd been a little unhappy about the new rims I put on - they were a bit vibrationary at low speeds and slightly wayward at high speed. Now I'd heard alot of people running the same rims describe similar problems and just assumed I would have to live with it.
I was more convinced of this by the fact that when I got the wheels they had brand new tyres, and the seller said they had all been balance up at the same time.
So when we checed them this afternoon, do you think they were in any way well-balanced? Were they curse word! Miles out - whoever balanced them up before clearly made a right hash of it.
So now I have a nice, smooth-running, sweet handling, vibration-free Beemer.
I am happy!
