 ...a Bentley Arnage. Makes a change from the usual Mundano fodder I have to put up with... OK it isn't retro but it's fast as fook! Like driving a 3 bed semi!!  |

I work part-time as a driver - most of it is pretty dull... ferrying crappy euro-boxes from A to B, but occasionally something good comes up! |

Cool. I had a bit of a tiff with a Bentley rep at the Glasgow motorshow once as a result of an Arnage, although it'll be an older one than that since it was a few years ago, I was getting a bit curious about the engine, as you do when you see a walloping great V8, , and this little curse word started to get a bit snobbish and expressed his discomfort about me being at the Bentley stand (no kidding, the high class companies do get very squeamish if a prole like me turns up at their stand at the Glasgow show, although I've seen less of it in other places, but then the long black dirty looking hair, muddy steel toecap boots, and red t-shirt with a black sickle and hammer drawn on it in marker pen that I had took to wearing at the time couldn't have helped matters much, it did draw looks considering the rest of the people round the Bentley stand were all in suits and the like! ) and I started getting a bit annoyed, before saying I'd crack him one and shove him in the boot of his bloody Bentley, and walked off before he had got the security after me, how I never got flung out is beyond me! Ah, happy days! ;D ;D ;D |

Hehe! Like that spoof Bentley ad! ;D ;D ;D had anything more interesting than the bentley? Lots of Audis - TTs, A8s... but I find them a bit boring (as I do most new cars). AMG E55 was a lark, and a Bimmer M5 which was a right beast! There was a Lamborghini (shamefully ignorant of these but I think it was a Murcialago or something...) but I didn't get to drive that  . The gaffer did (surprisingly!) I'm not sad enough to pretend I own the cars I'm driving (the trade plates give me away anyway!), but it's nice to floor it and see what these things can do (when nobody's looking!) I don't really want to do the job but I've started my own business and need the cash at the minute! But I thought it beats stacking shelves at Morrisons at least!  |

Git, only Bentleys I've ever driven were old Mulsanne turbos and continental R's, kinda like driving the QE2.
Nice to curse word off chavs with, and there was no one else around to give it a test drive.
That's the only thing I miss about being a mechanic, the very rare occasion where you're not working on a total sack of poo

BENTLEY = QUALITY. Like driving the QE2 on freakin' hydrofoils. Many years ago me ol' dad thought about a Mulsanne as a replacement for his XJ Sovreign. Then he lost all his ca$h and ended up with a Skoda. curse word!!!!  ;D |
