Bit of an unusual request I know!
When we moved to our new house back in April, I had to trade garage / driveway for rooms that were bigger than shoeboxes and a decent sized garden. We live on a curving residential street which doesn't get gritted in the winter, and I really don't want some moron losing it on the ice and obliterating my car. Also I want to keep it off the road to make my insurance cheaper and avoid the cars being damaged by passing oiks who like to break ariels, scratch paint remove mirrors etc.
I've been waiting 5 months now for a guy to come and do the work (friend of father-in-law's) but I don't hold out much hope of him ever coming!
Essentially what I want to build is a two-car driveway, constructed out of any surface - block paving / tarmac / concrete. Obviously,I'd like something that looks nice, but cost is an issue.
Also I need a single width drop-kerb installed to access the driveway: This has been OK'd by the local council and I have dimensioned drawings to work from.
I am prepared to labour on this myself as well, but don't have the necessary skills to do it alone!
If any readers / members have the wherewithall to do this, or can put me in contact with a reputable firm / individuals who undertake this work I would be most appreciative!!
I am located in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, just off the A1.
